SITUATION: NO REGRET

The idea crossed her mind. She walked - with trembling legs- towards the kids and looked at them in their eyes. She said just a few words, "please understand me, I'm sorry, you'll be fine, I'm sure". The kids were doing the dishes when she brought herself to the bedroom, then she put the gun on her forehead and felt something coming into her head, it was not painful, just a rough scratch. She approached the mirror, looked at herself, nothing had changed. Her kids stared at her, no pain in their eyes, though. It seemed as if they just wanted their mother to be relieved from the burden that her life used to be. They went back to the kitchen, went on with the dishes, mumbled a few sounds. She started feeling dizzy, it was that dizziness and the soft voices on the background that made her walk her steps back and try to undo what had done. However, it was too late. She heard some steps coming into the house, and a strong voice that started yelling at her "How come you are so irresponsible? You cannot even take care of your own children while I'm washing the car! Oh my God! You are not worth a damn shit!" The wooziness blurred her sight, she began her trip, shuffling her steps with the look of her kids' eyes in her soul.
